This is very interesting! I grew up in Southern Montana about 200 miles from Cody in Absarokee Montana. My father, son of an original cowboy and an extraordinary cowpoke himself, say "Let'r Buck!" All of the time. Of course, his father attempted to join the Calvary in WWI at the age of 14 and could very well have been exposed to all of those Wild Wyominites at a very impressionable age. My understanding of the phrase is much more simplistic. My father uses it more as an expression of "turn it lose and see what happens!" Either way, it seems appropriate for a football team to "Let'r Buck!"
